Getting Started_____________________________

There are three basic steps in deciding the content of your web site.

Deciding who will administer your site.

Gathering materials available to provide content for your site.
Or writing and producing the necessary materials from scratch.

Organizing content into categories that will translate to the different linked areas in your web site.

If you are having trouble finding content for your web site, please take a few moments to visit the links provided above. You will find information and considerations that may be helpful in this process. Magic Graphics is available to assist in any way possible. Please be sure to let me know if you have any additional questions.

Things to consider:

Do you have someone to administer your web site?

The size of your site will determine how much administration is necessary. This may be as simple as mailing Magic Graphix your company logo and contact information and we will take it from there. However, if you are considering putting your whole company catalog on your web site, it will be helpful to have a person within your company who will make decisions when necessary.

Do you have enough basic information to produce a web site?

A web site can be created with basic information to begin with. Your site can start out as a single page with no more than your company logo and contact information. Any additional content you find or produce can be added when it becomes available.

How do you want your content organized?

Most of the time your content will sort itself out into different types of information. Once the information is sorted, it should be given an appropriate category name, such as, company information, products, staff, or ordering, to name a few. Each category of information is then placed on separate pages. The category names for each page are then offered as a link on your navigation bar for viewers to visit.
